Mapoly students declare BLACK WEEK

In one voice of solidarity, the entire students of MAPOLY uses this medium to announce to the public and Government of Ogun State our unanimous decision to go on a One Week Protest tagged "BLACK WEEK" as our demand from the State Government have yielded no positive response after days of given ultimatum.

The pronouncement was made due to the failure of the state Government to start National diploma(ND) admission into MAPOLY  considering the fact that Ogun state polytechnic, IPOKIA was not accredited after the coming of NBTE .

It is very important for our students and NIGERIANS at large to know the consequences we would be faced with if we fail to write our exams before January 15th, 2017.

1. January 15,2018 marks the end of 2016/2017 academic session,if the present HND2 and ND2 students are yet to do their exam before the above stated date, they will be certified as graduate of 2017/2018 academic session. i.e extra year without failing any course

2. The present ND2 students will tentatively spend two years on Industrial Training (IT).

3. HND2 students will be unable to join their compatriots for NYSC April/may Batch.

4. Our Students in ND1 will spend  elongated time on SIWES which will automatically put an extension to their academic race meant for two years.

5. landlord and students fracas due to overdue house rent.

6. Prospective students who chose MAPOLY as their choice institution would not have the opportunity of resuming school until after the next Jamb because admission gate would be shut by then

With the above, we believe that the Ogun State Government has no good plan for the entire student of MAPOLY but to put all our glittering futures on hold because of its selfish political agenda.

Therefore, it will be important for all of us to see this as collective duty by coming to Abeokuta for this massive protest, which we believe will resonate our grievances to the Governor

The protest will last for a week and if the state Government refuses to listen, the entire students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic will not hesitate to keep holding Abeokuta metropolis into ransom until our demand is being met judiciously.

Cogently, we however call upon all the leadership of NANS Ogun State, NANS National, NAPS National and NAOSS National to see this struggle as an injury to one is an injury to all.

Culled
